Abstract

This book aims to examine key themes and issues relevant to the artist’s work. Written from diverse perspectives, it is unique in engaging in a critical discourse around the artist’s work, making connections across a range of artistic, scientific and cultural contexts. This book proposes an analytical approach that brings together material analysis with theoretical rigour and imaginative insights. It will document the artist’s explorations of sites with still, moving image and sound. Travelling thematically between ideas and images, the book will define the artist’s work through the identification of key landscapes and narratives, These defining features are marked out in twelve chapters with the concluding chapter focused on the technological, the environmental and aesthetic opportunities offered by the artist’s engagement with artistic and scientific processes. As a visually engaging publication, this study capitalises on the extraordinary range of relevant images available from the artist’s studio.
